2014 Embracing Innovation: Craft ACT

Pattern Stations

Embracing Innovation Vol 4: Craft ACT: Craft + Design Centre,

17 July - 30 August 2014

Pattern Stations is an interdisciplinary collaboration with Associate Professor of Interactivation, Bert Bongers, UTS. It has been developed from Inter-Lace a digital lace installation created for the Love Lace exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney 2011-13.The project explores a new space where relationships between analogue textiles and digital technologies interact to generate animated patterned lace environments. These pattern stations are designed to create a spatial sensory experience where the viewer instantaneously experiences infinite possibilities of kaleidoscopic pattern through interaction with movement, sensors and video feedback.

The project is part of my practice led research as a Phd candidate at RMIT University. It was exhibited in the Embracing Innovation Vol 4: Craft ACT: Craft + Design Centre, Canberra and linked with National Science week.
